Vinyl Floor - Weathertech vs. Husky Liners
#31
Thanks for the responses. I got antsy, so ordered WeatherTech for the front (over the hump). I also ordered the Husky WeatherBeaters for the rear because of reviews of the WT rears curling. I hope the WT don't curl in the front, but had read that they were thicker, and thus less likely to curl. I figured I'd try a little heat on them if they start off curling, then return them if they're not fixable, and order Husky WB for the front also.

Husky Xact contour are the nicer material
Husky weatherbeaters are harder and similar to regular weathertech mats in texture etc.
I found my old weathertech mats to be too hard, slippery in the wet and just didn't look good after years of wear so they got replaced with xact contours.

I've installed the WeatherTechs, but the included mount doesn't stick well on the vinyl - not at all, really. I'm wondering if it's because it's cold. Regardless, the mats are in, and they'll function, but they're not the exact fit I was expecting.
The WeatherBeaters are going to go back. The spikes on the bottom are really sharp, and I'm concerned they'll put holes in the vinyl floor, which is not something I want to deal with long run. I've ordered WeatherTech rears (for vinyl), and I'll have to deal with the curling. Maybe I'll use a heat gun or blow dryer, or even some duct tape to hold them in place long enough to keep them from curling.

I received and have put in the rear WeatherTechs liners, and they work great on the vinyl floor. They were not curled out of the box, so I don't foresee any issues with curling in the future.
If they slide, I'll put in a layer of liner that's used for toolboxes and drawers to see if it helps.

My rear mats haven’t curled at all. You need to make sure they are perfectly flat so they go under the door when it closes. Otherwise the door will constantly hit the corner and curl it up.

I have Weather Tech floor mats up front. They are OK, but the passenger side just doesn't fit that well in my opinion. I bought MaxLiner for the back. Fit really well and the material is a little softer and more pliable. More budget friendly too.

I have the Husky x-act contour front & rear. My Dad, Sister & Brother in law have Weathertech in their vehicles. Weathertech is like a harder plastic that's not as pliable, theirs have gotten a little deformed. Over time the edges warped and don't fit tight. It could probably be fixed with a heat gun, but my Husky's are a more pliable rubber - like material & lay flat & tight against the sides with no issue.
