Default Video cheat for cheapskates

Just connected my laptop to myfordsync via Bluetooth. Connected up like my phone. Showed up on the entertainment system. Selected my computer, stuck a DVD in it. DVD plays on the computer, and the sound plays on the stereo. Put the laptop on the console or folded down front seat, and the kids can watch videos.

Any idea if you can you do this through your phone?

Do you mean play audio from a video on your phone over the truck speakers? If that's what you mean, then yes, I was watching some youtube videos the other day and the audio comes from the truck speakers.

Yes. I was curious the other night and watched a Youtube video on my phone while the audio played through the truck speakers. I still want to find some sort of hack that allows video to be played, or the ability to view pictures through the MFT...

Ok thanks. I am able to get audio to play from my phone to the truck but would like the videos to appear on the touchscreen (netflix/amazon prime/youtube) while the truck is in motion.

Great idea. How is the audio sync through Bluetooth? Is there any delay between video and audio?

The only solution that I've found for this is to spend around $500 for a Lockpick type device. Unless you have the RCA A/V inputs, we're pretty much SOL.

I have a Ram Laptop Mount, use the line in audio cord and watch them that way, plus my 17" screen is nicer to watch on than the 8" factory screen
They sell cheaper mounts on ebay but I use mine at work so I spent the extra money on a high end mount.

PSA hope you take that down that setup when you drive

That is a death-to-someone projectile just waiting to happen in any real collision

It gets closed up, but I don't remove it. Kinda like the other "projectiles" in the cab, everyone has them. I'm not promised tomorrow, if death by laptop to the head does me in then that's how I will go. Really in this day in age someone has had a wreck with this laptop mount and would of sued Ram Mounts if they were injured and Ram Mounts would be no more, too many sue happy people in this world. But they are tested, and pass with flying colors.
