Default Vehicle security defect??

My F150 was recently broken into. Is there a flaw in the factory security system that allows the manual door lock to be jimmied that will allow the driver door to be opened and not have the factory alarm system activated? That is what appears to have happened. Anyone else have this problem and is there any solution besides installing a 3rd party security system?

You can definitely jimmy it in about 10 seconds... but the alarm should have gone off. Was a fob inside the truck?... that will prevent the alarm from going off.

If I lock my truck with the fob, then open the door with the actual physical key (rather than with the fob) my truck's alarm triggers. OP, are you sure you have the alarm set properly?

Thanks all for the information. I recheck and it functions as described. If the door is unlocked with the physical key, you have about 12 seconds to start the engine or turn off alarm with fob. Don't see any option to disable physical key from disabling alarm without fob. Although I think I always lock the door when I leave the truck, I guess there is possibility I didn't lock door and burglar jimmied lock not realizing door was unlocked.

You have to lock the door with the fob....not the interior lock button.

You didn't specify what you meant by "I think I always lock the door when I leave the truck...."

Check the front of your grill. Thieves punch in the driver side of the grill and yank the horn wires out, so it doesn't cause any noise when the alarm actuates.
