That doesn’t prove anything. Gear ratios? Trim and curb weight?

i like my trucks to drive like trucks.. linear power .. power there if i need to floor it .. there is no reason i need that much low end torque under 3500 rpms .. is unpredictable

sounds like you like your trucks revving like a honda lol.

When I floor my 3.5 it predictably slings me into my seatback regardless of RPM. Doesn’t sound cool doing it though.

I like the Coyote, but I certainly would not say it drives like a truck motor. As a matter of fact, AFAIK, it's the highest revving full size truck motor ever.

To me GM's 6.2 or Ram's 5.7 drive like v8 trucks.

I've owned two diesels and find the 3.5EB to be diesel like in operation. For my taste, that is a good thing.

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY ZERO percent chance of me buying another.

And there's a LOT more than two of us going through engine replacements.

Kind of funny that this has turned into another 5.0 vs Eco drag race thread. As a 5.0 owner I would say it's pretty clearly documented that with two identical trucks, save for one being equipped with the 5.0 and one with the Eco, the Eco will hit 60mph and run the quarter ever so slightly faster than the 5.0. From what I have seen, the difference between these two trucks as far as these performance parameters are concerned would be slight enough that you would only ever possibly notice it while you are indeed drag racing. What I think is most important is that the Eco will always "feel" faster in everyday driving and the dyno charts clearly show why. At 3k RPM, the Eco has a nearly 100 lb-ft advantage over the 5.0.

That being said, in the spirit of the original intent of this thread, I bought my 13 5.0 because I felt like the earlier 5.0 engines were more reliable and less likely to give problems than the early Eco engines. I bought my 17 5.0 because my 13 5.0 was good to me and while I believed a lot of the Eco's earlier problems had been sorted out, I still felt like the 5.0 was the better engine overall and didn't see the necessity or reason in going to the Eco. As much as I hate to say it, for the 2018 model year that changed. I'm sure there are scores of 18+ model year 5.0s out there that will never give issue. But in consideration of the perceived probability of having issues and the severity of some of the issues being experienced, I could not bring myself to buy an 18+ 5.0. If I were in the market, I'd likely look hard at Ram but if I did stick with Ford, it'd probably be the 2.7 Eco for me simply because I have no need for what the 3.5 offers over the 2.7.
