Used F-150 values skyrocketing, what's going on?

It's the rebound after the used market crashed a few months ago when lockdowns started. Went from a glut of used cars to not nearly enough. Dealers are making money sending vehicles back to auction because someone somewhere else is willing to pay more just to get that truck/suv on their lot.

I’m thinking about also. I just sold a 19 model car and got 2k more that was offered in Dec last year. No payments on the truck. Looking around no deals really on the same truck. Do I want a 21 not sure.

It's more than the pandemic... cash for clunkers took a ****-ton of used vehicles out of circulation. Before CFC, you could easily find vehicles close to 100,000mi in reasonable condition starting at $2000. I was assisting my son in finding a vehicle last summer, $5000 would get you a questionable ride, you had to get to $7000 to start seeing reasonable condition vehicles.
Vehicle production shut down coupled with already low vehicle availability is what got us to where we are. The loss of low value used vehicles has driven up the price of all vehicles.
