Default use 4L when hooking trailer with camera

I tried finding a thread where folks talked about using the back up camera when hooking up a trailer but could not find it so posting a separate hint prompted by snowmobile season trailer hauling about to start. You get a lot more ability to adjust the position of the ball under the trailer hitch in manageable increments if you switch your transmission to 4 low. Truck creeps instead of rolls. Took me 2 years to discover this. Just thought I would share. Now get on with your day.

did you know you can zoom the camera? in the display (camera) there is a little + in the upper left corner. push it and the camera will zoom.

Works also getting it up on ramps nice and smooth without the ohh ohh **** moment driving over the ramps!

Yes! That's the post I was looking for - I was going to add on to it. I did find the zoom early on but was slow with the 4x4 L.

See this thread for turning 4L into 2L. Works well with heavier trailers when you need to be able to turn the truck as well.

I've had that + disappear on me a couple of times when going back and forth. Shutting off the truck and restarting brings it back.

lol...fortuitous timing...my new boat I store in a newly built storage facility that has gravel for the parking lot. In 4H it was pretty easy to spin the tires in the gravel, as I have to back up a bit of a slope. It wasn't until my last trip to put the boat away for the winter that I thought of using 4L, and man, what a difference.

Just be sure not to use 4L on dry pavement. Gravel, snow, or grass no problem 👍
