Default Upper control arms compatability

Have an issue with a dealership service department. I have had a Superlift 4.5" lift on my 2016 F150 for about two years now and did a brake job all the way around a couple of weeks ago. Started noticing a creaking sound coming from the passenger side front wheel area when sitting still and turning the steering wheel back and forth. Took it in and was told I had some loose bolts on my lift kit, they tightened all the way around the kit and charged me $125. As I left, noise was still there. The next morning, I took the truck back and they couldn't believe it was still making noise. After about twenty minutes, the service advisor came in and told me they heard the noise I was talking about and it was the UCA. He said these lift are putting the UCA's at a bad angle so there is premature wear on the ball joints. I guess the Black Widow editions that have the dealer installed kits are doing the same thing.

Anyway, they now are charging me $383 to install the new UCA. What I am going to do in the near future is research and purchase upgraded UCA's and install them. My question to you guys is what is a good set of these to get? The ones I have looked at are only for 1 - 3" lifts. I did see a set of BDS upper control arms for 2.5" - 6" lifts, but it specified BDS lifts. I have stock coils, Bilstein shocks, 35" x 12.50" tires and 20" wheels....don't know offset or backspacing off the top of my head though.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

TIA,
Chris

I just had the Icon Delta Joint UCA's installed on my F150, I've only driven it 2.5 miles from shop back to work. These UCA's are supposed to help with those bad angles. Stage 3 Motorsports has some good videos on UCA's. I intend to off road my truck which is why I replaced mine.

I do like those UCA’s. One thing about the Superlift, they designed it to keep all of the OEM angles and I went back and checked. The stock UCA’s don’t really look that bad. I’m kinda pissed that the dealership was so adamant that my lift caused this.

I'm not familiar with Superlift, but if your not using a spacer and are lifting the truck with coilovers or a real lift kit UCA's aren't really at bad angle. Unless your maxing out your front suspension. You should be able to tell just by looking.

How many miles are on your truck? It is quite possible the ball joints are worn out. It is pretty typical for a 4wd truck around 100k miles the front end (upper ball joints) need replaced. Large tires will make it worse.
