Default Unidentified objects

I took the opportunity today to wash the salt off my 2016 Screw here in PA on a beautiful 40 degree day and as I was washing it, two pieces of what looks like metal rattled across the cowling at the base of my windshield. Attached are pictures. They are very small, I have no idea where they came from, any help would be appreciated.

They came from the wiper arms. They are used to align the arms when installing them.

Apparently they are not required, but I personally put them back in if they fall out while I'm washing my truck.

I've also read that they are not necessary, but when mine fell out I used a little silicone when I put them back in. They haven't fallen out again.
