I work in a high crime parking lot, 2 trucks hit yesterday

Just started this job this week

Took out all my stuff, but I hate being w/o at least 1 gun

I use a box similar to this in both my truck and my wife's Explorer. It isn't large enough to fit my 1911, but is perfect for my XDs and my wifes S&W .38 revolver.

Granted it'd be easy for a thief to cut the cable IF he had bolt cutters, but 9/10 times they don't have the time to deal with that.

I would think they would trash the whole console trying to get that out

 

Not to mention it'd be a pain in the butt everytime I wanted to reach in there and get out a tissue or flashlight or whatever.

 

Check out the Hornady website (security products tab). I use the keyed lock box that is secured under my back seat with a cable. Works great and you can find them online for around $30.
