I've always been a fan of 2-tone(yes, I guess now you could consider me an old man at 56).
Ford does 2-tone right, I had a GM 2-tone in the late 90's and they didn't continue the bottom color across the doors in back. It was really an after thought.
My last truck was a '10 F150 Oxford white, and Gold, I did have several comments about it being an old man truck.
I think it works better in some combos than others, but generally I like how it visually lowers the truck. Its a styling trick, similar to how OEMs make roofs look thicker or thinner by how high window glass goes before meeting sheet metal. On mine, I think the caribou lower panels and bumper really make the white platinum paint pop. WP is hard to photograph, but in person its really nice.
Had 2 options with my KR. Platinum white mono or PW with the brown trim at the bottom. Frankly to me, the Mono looks way better, and much more classy and clean. Im not a fan of the 2 tone.
