Turning cargo lights off with door open

Yeah, sorry about that but I was (as the original poster asking the question) just trying to find out if there was an actual way of turning off the cargo light. Given the stress of Nov/Dec holidays and shopping and then having read through reply after reply of nonsense stating the obvious I'd had enough. If that's the norm in here I likely won't be back. -Michael

I have a 2015 Lariat Super Cab, and I just confirmed this by checking my truck. I opened my doors and let the rear end down, my cargo lights didn't come on. I turned the cargo lights on by pressing the button in the bed, I then went to the cab and hit the button to turn the cargo lights off and they went off with the doors open. I don't know if all models of trucks have this, but there are 4 buttons surrounding the circular headlight switch. The lower left button controls the lights in the bed and that's what I use to turn them on when I have someone put things in my bed and I stay in the truck. It may work differently on true 4 door trucks, but I hope this helps you.

Hey RoJo Hope you didn't start the year opening your door and letting the rear end down to everyone on the road? It's winter still so plenty of skidding conditions to swerve people off the road without going to extremes bro, LOL!!
Jokes aside I will def try your approach when I get back to the truck.
If you try it again and confirm being a workaround, please consider posting it on the HINTS, TIPS AND TRICKS sticky thread

I know this is a very old thread, however I had a similar issue. Although I didn't find a way to turn them off I did figure out a work around. I pulled the fuse (number 14) that controls both the lights and the battery saver (unfortunately it also kills the power windows so have them in the position you want while you have the fuse out). Hope this helps.
