Default Turn Off DRL's

I would like to turn my DRL's off. I have a XLT 302A package but I do not have the configurable Type 2 option for DRL's. It's odd because I have figured this package would have the ability to turn them off through the gauge cluster. Other than ForScan, is there another way to turn them off? I even looked to see if there was a specific fuse/relay for DRL's and I did not see one.

I don't have that setting for some reason.

Is your truck from Canada? Is it used?

Otherwise the option should be in the instrument cluster.

It was used when I bought it. Was not from Canada and was in Virginia before I purchased it. I might call a local dealer to see if they would fix this. If they try to charge me for it, I'll just go the ForScan route.

I am wondering if the prior owner could have changed the DRL settings with Forscan to mimic the Canadian option. I am going to guess that either A) a dealer will find the option in the cluster somewhere, or B) will not know where to start and want to charge a few hundred bucks to diagnose the issue.

Forscan can be gotten for about $30 and will let you see if the value has been tweaked (as well as do some other cool things).

I'll check again under advanced settings after work but I'm pretty sure it's not there. I read alot of the Forscan thread earlier so I knew it was inexpensive to fix it but I just wanted to mainly see at first if I was supposed to have that option to change it in the first place.

Another possibility, is last time I checked, I was in drive and it might not allow you to change it while in Drive. But I'll see after work.

I would try this, it likes to hide things when the vehicle is not in park.

The best I can tell from the manual the path should be:
Settings > Advanced settings > Vehicle > Lighting > Daytime lights (checkbox)

Why do you want to turn off a safety feature that probably has the highest chance of any safety feature on our trucks of actually *preventing* a crash?
