Yes I know I sound crazy, they are supposed to get hot. Especially on the exhaust side of the turbo. But I just replaced both turbos with new ones with all new oil and coolant inlet and outlet hoses and I notice that the turbos get pretty hot within about 10 seconds of starting it. Just curious if anyone can confirm this is normal even after just 10 seconds. all coolant and oil levels are fine.

 

I would say Normal---you are dumping straight exhaust gases right into them!! They are not glowing red are they?

 

Yes its normal. The truck is doing what it can to get the catalytic converters hot so they can be effective.

As long as they don't look as red hot as these....you're fine.



Be sure and give them a good workout from time to time. Take the long way home and throw 'er in Sport mode. The 'Ol Italian tune-up. Its good for your entire engine.

Speaking of Ee lectric vee hi ckles, I watched MKBHD video on the electric Dodge wachamacallit. It has fake exhaust and quite possibly now the stupidest thing I've seen. Stupider that that jacked up brodozer truck that had marine speaker pods attached to the rear axle. LMAO.

 

That’s actually kinda hilarious, IMHO.

It’ll remind someone actually corny enough to buy one that they should have waited for the Hemi’s return to the Charger next year. 🤷🏻‍♂️
