Default Tuning Question

Probably a beat horse but I'm leaning toward a programmer to help get a little back from bigger tires. If you had a choice would you go for Livernois or 5-Star? I had the LMS with my '12 Eco and those tunes were fantastic. Got the 5.0 this time because of all the issues with eco.....Both tuners look really good to me just hard to decide which one...

Except if it's a '15, I thought the tire size couldn't be changed by most tuners?

I actually sent out feelers to most of the popular tuners asking them why I should purchase 'their' product. The one I was leaning to buying gave me these numbers for a 5.0 tune. All of these are with a new intake and CAI (The stock one is pretty much as good as that gets).

10-12 hp to rear wheel with no intake/cai.

87 octane: +30 hp +50 lb ft
91 octane: +40 hp +55 lb ft
93 octane: +45 hp +60 lb ft

I'm not spending 3-500 buck for that. well, if I want more power I'll go with a SC like the one I had on my 02 Mustang (544 to the rear wheel). Too bad Kenne Bell doesn't make one for our trucks. it was the best $5k I ever spent.

I think those numbers are very generous for the 5.0.

I'm very happy with my tune from Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning.

We have seen some good gains from the 5.0. There are some dyno charts on our website. The good thing about getting a programmer is that it will make any other aftermarket parts you get for your truck work much better as well. Not sure what year truck you have but we did get the update from SCT this week to change tire size on the X4 devices. If anyone needs questions answered feel free to give us a call.
