I use HP Tuners. Sai Li from Li Tuning and Racing or Chris Holmes from Forced Motorsports would be my first 2 options. Chris tunes mine.

MPT. Im running 35s w the 87 PRX tune and it runs great. There are 2 settings built in as well. One for shift adjustments and another for the speedo.

I'm quite happy with the Omega tune from Oz Tuning. I used the SCT X4 device which is also a really nice unit. Very straight forward to "install" the tune and Ken will work with you to tweak it to your liking as far as shift points and other details go.

I have mo performance mods as of yet. Regearing my truck and getting a tuner is my 1st step. I will add exhaust later and possibly other performance mods.
I recommend www.ssituning.com for all your tuning needs. I have used them on three different Ford vehicles with great success.

Last5oh, just based on dyno you'd be right. But they fix some torque management stuff and they have gained up to half a second in the quarter.

a tune is worth it just for getting rid of the throttle lag that ford programs in to their vehicles now. It is great to hit the gas and have the truck actually move the very second you want it to and also to have the throttle open in the same ratio as you press the gas pedal. Its seriously unsafe how much pedal lag they put into these new vehicles.

I have been looking at Oz's website. Does a person get the tune from them an then get a device like Bully Dog to hook to the OBD port to install it?

SCT X4 is generally the tuner of choice, it will have a spot for 5 custom tunes.

I would go with the SCT x4. I've used others but the SCT is really easy to use and lets you adjust heaps of parameters. Id recommend getting an MPT tune for it, one of the best in my opinion. If you want to have a look at the review I wrote on the SCT x4, I list all the individual adjustments you can make with it. You can have a look at it HERE. Pretty handy tool that lets you store 10 custom tunes, and easily switch between them. I loike them because they work on most fords, from 1996 to present. I'm no expert at tuning but I have already made my money back on it buying installing tunes for friends.
