Default Tuner Question

Thinking of getting a tuner, now that I have the CAI & exhaust done. From American Trucks.com, I'm looking at this one.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

A few comments:

I have an SCT tuner and 5 Star tunes, the tunes are spot on.

The aftermarket intake and exhaust don't matter as far as a tuner, they aren't doing anything but making noise.

You have a 5.0, so my guess is 10-20 Hp is all you can expect from a 93 octane tune. Turbo engines are where you see a sizable difference.

I think it's a good choice because it leaves the window open for the future and 5Star tunes are well sorted.

I'm using the x4 device from my last car and have had tunes from 3 different tuners on it. That's the best part of the SCT x4 in my opinion. You control the device. It doesn't get locked by a tuner.

Can still only tune one vehicle at a time, but at least you don't have to pay a ransom to get it unlocked.

This is all true as well. The main gain from the tune will be a better driving truck and improved shift strategy.

That's great news! My old Diablosport tuner on my Mustang was going to cost $150 to get it unlocked a few years ago.
Thanks

This post is from 2019, not sure if these members are still active. Better to start a new thread.
