Truxedo Pro X15- reviews?
Truxedo rails are generally a very tight fit... basically when we install we shove them to the front of the bed as hard as we can and then clamp them... If you have a plastic liner blocking at the front I recommend trimming there so that the end pad is against the bed metal... Once the pads compress and form it should be fine without trimming on the tailgate... I would avoid that if possible...
Thanks. He ended up trimming the plastic liner at both ends a tiny bit, and was able to get everything to fit. Pretty sure both ends tight against the metal. Can take pics if interested.
My dad has one on his 2017 XLT and likes it. I'm still not crazy about the velcro, but it certainly makes it lighter and easier to get out of the way (I have a Revolver X2 on my truck).
One question: the video on page 1 of this thread seems to show shutting the tailgate with the cover fully in place; can this be done? I think my dad is under the impression that the cover has to be clicked into place AFTER shutting the tailgate, which is another downside for me.

As far as the cover is concerned, it's been several weeks and I gotten lots of positive feedback. It looks better in person, very classic and "high end" appearance. I'm dealing with red dirt dust from construction near my home and the cover stays looking clean (although there's dust on the paint). I just run it through the car wash or hand wash and rinse it off.
Some folks may be concerned about the Velcro closure... I was too, but at this point I believe it will not be an issue. I have rolled it open to haul stuff with no problems, and that holds true for the side rails, they are a non-issue in my opinion. Now if you're loading gravel or packing your truck full of large hard objects then you may want to remove the rails and cover entirely.
I had a trifold cover on my 2013 (Rugged Cover) and I really liked it... but I like the ProX15 much better! I like the low profile, ease of use, classic high end look, and overall quality.
I also added Putco gloss black window trim pieces to cover the rubber trim along the door window sills (see pics). They make it look much better... I did have to return the first set that I received because of scratches... not a problem as they provided the return label via email and sent the replacements out the next day. The customer service over the phone and email was excellent.
Thanks again for all the information. I finally pulled the trigger and got a Pro-X15. It went on easy and looks great. With the low profile and the woven fabric it really looks great. Here are two pictures right after I installed the Pro-X15.
The cover looks great! You definitely made a great decision going with this Tonneau.

So those of you who having been running this for a while now, how is this cover to clean? I love the low profile but worry that dirt will become imbedded in the fabric. My truck is parked for 10 hours a day in a dust bowl at work. I'd be happy if I could just pressure wash it clean, I just don't want to scrub it every time.
I just got an X15 on my 2017 F150. Great fit and after it pissed rain these last two days my bed is still dry. For those that are worried about the velcro...don't be. I had a Truxedo LoPro on my last truck and I would roll/unroll several times a week for years. Velcro was still gripping well. My buddy had one and it started to lose some grip after years of use. He called Truxedo up to order some replacement velcro strips and they just sent him a set free of charge. Great customer service.
Edit: Also, I wedge my dirtbike front tire in the corner of my bed up against the rail..been doing it for years with no issues.
