Default Truck threw a P0022 Code.

What all can you tell me about the P0022 code. I have a 17 f150 3.5 eco boost 4x4. It has 29,XXX miles. The dealer took an hour and a half to diagnose it and tell me it was fine and they turned the light off. Pulled out the lot and it’s back on. Turn around and go back - they then tell me I have to schedule it back in for them to tear it down to see why it’s throwing the code.

That's part of the variable valve timing system, specifically, and usually, the VCT solenoid. Uncommon on your motor. VERY common on the old 3V 5.4l.

Let them do their thing. Warranty for the win.

Yes, thank goodness for the warranty. It’s scheduled for them to work on next week.

My sisters 3.5 threw a code similar to this and the dealer determined a bad aftermarket oil filter was reducing oil pressure up top at startup. After an oil change and new filter the issue went away.

I was reading the article posted above and seen where an oil change should be tried first. I was curious if there was any merit to it. Sounds like it could be. I’ll definitely talk to the dealership about it tomorrow. Thank you!
