believe me if solar wasn’t so great and San Diego’s weather no so perfect, I would have left already and may in fact move down to central florida in 12-18 months because that solar market is about to go crazy.

as far as a raptor if they weren’t still stuck on the old front end design which I hate, id consider it
OK, I've got the best solution for you. Come to Texas, buy a Platinum, or even a Limited, and I will volunteer to put 7K miles on it for you.

Gee your state is forcing you to buy local and the local deals suck. What a surprise. If it was me, I would get the hell out of there as fast as you can. If 12-18 months is the remainder of your sentence buy something cheap and used until then.

That does not sound right. You may want to call DMV and speak to another person, or look at Calif. DMV website on how to register and out of state vehicle. I glanced at the website and did not see a mileage restriction.

I am a member of a Jeep forum as well. A lot of the Calif boys go out of state to buy new Wranglers. No one has ever made mention of the 7000 mile restriction. Seems like that would violate the commerce clause anyway.

quick reading as well ... the only thing the DMV website says it has to be Cali Spec Emissions wise .. only mention of mileage is if its considered new or not

further more you may qualify for an exemption even if its not cali spec .. and that's a big MAY

Exemptions

There are a few exemptions to the law. As a California resident, you may be able to register a 49-state vehicle if it was:
  • Obtained as part of a divorce, inheritance, or legal separation settlement.
  • Purchased to replace your California-registered vehicle that was stolen while you were using the vehicle out-of-state.
  • Purchased to replace your California-registered vehicle that was destroyed or made inoperative beyond reasonable repair while you were using the vehicle out of state.
  • An emergency vehicle, pursuant to California Vehicle Code § §27156.2 and 27156.3.
  • Registered by you in the state of your last active military service outside California.
  • A street motorcycle or motor-driven cycle year model 2005 and older, with an engine less than 50 cubic centimeters (cc) displacement. Beginning January 1, 2006, street motorcycles and motor-driven cycles year model 2006 and newer, with engines less than 50 cc displacement, require an emission label certifying them to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emission regulations, and may be registered regardless of mileage.

great find thank you.

someone asked if the building insurance is paying me. They aren’t. My insurance is but they may go after someone else to get the money back but I have no say in it. The building however will be replacing the belongings inside that my homeowners insurance would otherwise have to pay.

i think I’m gonna wait to see what the refresh this fall looks like. I really appreciate all the advice
