Every vibration I’ve ever had that’s been fixed by balancing wheels has been at certain speeds then goes away, like 40-50mph I get a vibe but not before or after.

What cab and bed do you have?

Long bed standard cab.

Second set of tires and rims, no change at all.

what else has been checked? Tire balance, driveshaft?

I wouldn’t add any additives and since you can’t clearly state what temp the tranny was at and added the wrong fluid I’d take it straight to a reputable transmission shop to get the fluid drained and filled properly.
Wrong fluid? ****.

Does a 40 mile trip at speeds in excess of 70mph not get these transmissions up to operating temp?

If I need to flush the trans fluid, I'll do it in the shop myself. How many dumps and fills? I've read three is enough.

Your statement that driveshaft or other problems don't lessen or go away at various speeds is incorrect. In my experience it happens more often than not. I have mud under one of my wheels right now that shakes like crazy at 30-50mph and you can barely tell at 70.
I had a driveshaft problem in my 03 Mach. It was barely noticable at anything under 60mph, but very noticable at 100. Replaced the driveshaft with an aluminum unit and had the replace the tailshaft of the trans too, as it was cracked from the vibration. This doesn't behave like that at all. Feels like the trans is stuck between gears or something. IDK. What I do know is that it's apparently the wrong fluid, so it looks like I'm flushing the trans.

The two piece driveshafts are notorious for vibrations.

I'll check that too while it's on the lift. Thanks

Easily a lot less than that. I just drive it around my neighborhood and go up a few hills. I can actually get it up to temp in my driveway by letting the engine warm up to temp and then putting it into gear and rev a bit with my foot on the brake.

My daily commute is about 13-14miles, 2/3 of it is at 50mph, I never hit more than 180* Coolant peaks at around 200*
I really wish the tranny would warm up quicker, 3-5 shift is clunky, but what i do notice is when trans is up in temp, I often see 3-4-5 rather than 3-5 when cold.

Power braking it is the way to do it. It only takes a minute or so to get it up to temps
