Transmission Forgets to Shift
I have been using "S" mode lately since my starter is going and I don't want it to stop while hot as it struggles to restart. Yes, I can just turn it off but I like S better. I will go into the dealer to have it looked at since I only have 4k miles left on the warranty but I am dreading because I KNOW they are going to say nothing is wrong with it.
While driving with a "little" acceleration, I notice if I take my foot out of it close to when it would shift, it just sits there. Even if I am at say 3200rpms. If press the gas a little and drive it'll eventually shift. If I don't press the gas or just press it enough to maintain that speed, it doesn't shift. Is this "normal"?

Lots of people like sport mode.. I find it annoying. It shifts like a moronic child most of the time. Yeah.. it keeps you in the power band, but it does it in a stupid way.
Want to drive like a moron? Get a quick manual car.

Hanging in gear in sport mode is normal, its one of my gripes too.
I never tried it but you can probably use the trans manual mode and make it do what you want it to do. Of course that complicates things more.

So a little different situation but I feel like mine "forgets" to shift, too just in normal drive mode but only with ACC. Basically I come to a stop with ACC then traffic moves so I acknowledge that with the accelerator or just the button and it starts driving again but will literally redline itself in first gear before it finally shifts, then it rapid-fires up to like 5th or 6th usually then acts normally shifting the rest of the way to 10th as necessary. It's awful.
I know that's different so I'm not trying to thread-jack. Just commiserating
