Did you ever figure out this problem? I have a 2015 F150 doing the exact same thing.

I see nothing wrong with him asking if there was a resolution or cause found in a thread that relates to his issue regardless of age. And so what if it’s his first post . In all reality his post was more related to the thread than yours was. And if someone does post an answer and not a useless snarky comment it might actually help people searching for an answer to the same issue in the future.

This forum cracks me up. People get mad when someones starts a new thread with a question that's been asked a bunch of times before..."uSe ThE SeArCh FuNcTiOn!! derrrr"

Then you have people getting mad about bringing up an old thread asking about a similar issue..."nIcE nEcRo!!! derrrr"

How about just not respond at all if it doesn't pertain to you?

Ok thanks. I have it at the dealer now. They are saying there is a TSB to replace 2 gears in the transfer case. Replacing them tomorrow, we will see what happens.

They replaced the gears and a bearing in the transfer case and i took it home. No noise on the way home but later that night it started making the noise again. Brought it back in and had the shop foreman ride with me to hear the noise. He checked all the vacuum components and all were fine. It wasnt losing vacuum. Ended up replacing both IWE's and the noise is gone so far. Put on about 100 miles since they were replaced and still no noise. These have been replaced about a year ago as well. I dont get it. Do they just go bad?

There are owners that have IWE's fail on a regular basis, others that never have a failure. I'm at 5yrs, 105k miles. The IWE's, controller, check valve and tubing are original, no odd noises, front engages as it should.
