Default Trailer software

Can the 2016 with the trailer package be upgraded with the 2017 software so I can define the length of the trailer?

I am not absolutely sure that I understand your question. Are you asking if you can upgrade the 2016 so it will have BLIS w/Trailer Tow like the 2017 trucks do? If that is your real question, there is more involved than just a software upgrade. If that is not your question, then I don't see the use of telling the truck how long the trailer is.

Default Yes that was my question

I have a friend that has a 2017 and he showed me how he was able to define the length of his trailer during the trailer setup, I know my 2016 did not allow me to define that. I was hoping it was just a software update that would give me that option. Thanks for the reply.

The length of the trailer is for the blind spot trailer monitoring. IIRC, the physical sensors are different. Software wouldn't do it.
