Hey guys question I have a 2014 F250 when I plug my trailer wiring harness into the truck on the hitch. The info screen still shows trailer disconnected this never happened before. In turn the electric brakes will not work inside the truck using the factory brake controller. However all lights inside and out work on the trailer. Help!!! And yes I posted in the super duty forum just figured might have more viewers here and it's the same setup in the F150. Thanks

 

Are you plugging it into the 7pin plug? The 4pin plug doesn't activate the brake controller, only the 7pin. Also, did you install the relay that came in the glove box?

What kind of trailer and what kind of condition is the wiring in?
Chances are there is a bad connection in the trailer plug. Most likely a ground or broken wire on the brake circut. Lights can work but brakes may not.
Quickest and easiest to see what it is, find a buddys trailer that works plug it in and see what happens. If that one works good you know it's the trailer side, and if it doesn't work it's the truck side.

 

Be sure the plug is fully seated in the receptacle. On my 150, everything works except the trailer brakes unless I really jam the plug in there.

 

Yes brand new trailer worked last trip then nothing. It's the seven pin plug. Thanks guys.
