I purchased my 2015 in April. It has everything I wanted except for the trailer brake controller. So on the day I signed the papers I ordered the oem controller from the parts department. After receiving and installing the controller I returned my truck to Ford service to "flash" the CPU so it would recognize the controller. After about 30 mins or so they told me I was good to go. So I left the dealership and it still doesn't work. So I returned. The service person "flashed" the CPU again and with no change it still doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

 

They have to go into the instrument cluster with IDS and enable the brake controller. The controller itself doesn't get flashed.
