Is traction control working?
I have a 2016 F150 4x4 5.0 crew cab. 77K miles. Years ago i remember being out on the beach and could not make the tires spin until i turned off traction control. Now i am noticing in the rain that the tires spin easily on the pavement with normal throttle. Is there a way to test this before trying my extended warrant coverage as they always want to charge me 150 dollas just to say that is normal!!! When i turn the button off the light does come on on the dash.
Thanks for any help.

Depending on the condition of the tire TC can be overcome in slippery conditions. I have to watch for this all the time in my 2wd XL. You can feel the change during acceleration between modes, at lest they mack a noticed change on my truck.TC/SC on and the tires do not break traction easily, Advance Track Sport Mode is more aggressive, hold the TC button till the dash indicates TC off and I really notice the change. Backing up an incline on my driveway in the snow, hard to get the tires to spin or even turn to climb the grade. Need a running start.
Dry pavement, pedal to the floor, I can feel and hear the wheelspin, and see the traction light on the dash flashing.
I would say it adapts to conditions, so you most likely don't have a problem, and yes since its a safety system it would warn you if something wrong was detected.

If your TC wasn't working you would have a warning light on the dash; safety systems are self-testing. Our rear ends are light and I get a little slippage from a stop on wet pavement, especially starting up an incline, unless I engage Wet driving mode and/or 4A. I used to have a very steep concrete driveway which I could back up just fine when it was dry but had to engage 4A or the rear locker to back up when it was wet. TC isn't magic.
