Tracking Thread!! VIN's with Build Dates
This is my fifth F-150. I've put the stripe on the last three. It was installed cost $50 at local classic car shop. For the price, to me, it makes it really pop and breaks the lines while looking classy without over doing it. Ford used to put the stripe on at the factory prior to about 10 years ago. There are lots of color choices....one of mine was a troubadour red (now about same as ruby red) and I used a gold color and really liked it. I used a bronze this time to match the caribou bottom. I think it'll set your truck apart ant you'll really like it, especially for the price.

Thought you Ford truck and future Ford truck owners would find this interesting!!

Ordered 12/23/14.
Dealer put in order 1/7/15
Cotus told me Delivery 3/17, then moved to 3/22 then to 3/29.
On 3/30/15 (monday) I get ahold of the dealer and ask where the heck my truck is, Cotus was still saying in transit with date of delivery and days to delivery blank.
Dealer says I have some bad news, your truck is still in Dearborn. He said he's trying to find out what happened. (I checked other trucks, average delivery to South Jersey by train: 16 days)
Brittany puts me in touch with a Ford Customer Rep. Dealer deals with their Customer rep. I get 3 different reps within 8 days, and each one of them, and the dealer have this answer every time I ask what's going on: "We have no further information on your truck". All of them are trained to give the same answer.
Two days ago, my truck shows up on Cotus again. It had disappeared for a month. Said delivery on 4/29. Could it be true? Today it moved the date up two days to 4/27. Still wondering if it's true. Dealer sends me an email today: "Just got a text from the ford rep, your truck is being loaded onto a train car".
So, my truck is a month past the date it was to be delivered, and the ONLY thing I have been able to find out is that 3 different Customer Reps, the Salesman, Sales Manager and General Manager of the Dealership, and their Ford rep can only tell me "We have no further information on your truck".
Obviously before it made it to the train, something happened. Either it got hit, the moon roof was leaking, or something else, that was caught, and hopefully completely fixed, but you know what, All I cared about was finding out what happened. I'm okay that it may come late, I'm overall a patient man, but it's just so irritating that NO ONE will fess up on what happened.
I wrote a letter to Mr. Mark Fields. We'll see if his office will tell me what happened. Sure would be nice to be a little honest and truthful with the customer rather than having a canned answer "We have no further information on your truck".
Vent over.
Thanks for listening guys! This forum is absolutely awesome. I have learned a lot from all of you and hope each and every one of you get to enjoy your truck as much as those who have already received theirs appear to be enjoying their new F150. And maybe, just maybe in 9 or 10 days, I'll be in a new one.

I had all kind of the same thoughts, fell of the loader, Train wreck, bubba taking it out on a date; pure agony.
Went by the dealer on Wednesday at four truck not there and still 2 days before the third delivery date, but COTUS again has removed the delivery date. Looked 1 hour later and it said delivered. Stopped back at dealer and low and behold truck was there.
I looked the vehicle over with a fine tooth comb, have been in auto body business for over 30 years. Left to let them clean it up and returned the next day to give a better look.
My inspection was revealing. Had a check list of all the problems from this sight and went down the list. I am extremely critical but was quite surprised. None of the issues others have we're evident. Rear end was great looking, seam sealer on roof with only 1 slight dimple on middle pass side, door gaps perfect all the way around, torrential rains but moonroof gutter perfectly dry, no air leaks, steering wheel centered and no pulling. I can actually say the wait was well worth it. It appears thanks to some of the forerunners, all issues(at least in my case) have been corrected. I was upset with the wait but glad to see the quality is what it is.
Thanks to CurryBob, Roadpilot, Texrep and all others that helped ease some of the pain with the wait. The information you guys provided was invaluable. My hope for others is you get your vehicle in the same shape as mine, without any issues. The interior of the King Ranch is luxurious, looks higher end than my wife's Lexus.
Mine still shows intransit. basically ours have been close the entire time even though mine only had to go to Iowa. Hope mine gets here next week.
What was you estimate ETA?
Man i cant beleive that, yours was ordered after mine, it was built after mine and yours had to clear customs. Mine still isnt supposed to show until next week if it stays on schedule and we are both the same distance from the plant i just happen to be on the south side of the big lake!
