Well I have a XL with the 17in rims on it. I have a slow air leak in one of my tires. When I went to put air in it I found the leak. The valve stem is broken at the rim. So this leads to my question. Is the TPMS on the valve stem or on a band around the rim like my Explorer had? The truck has less then 400 miles on it and I am not so sure someone didn't just kick the stem.

 

Found my answer. They are on the valve stem but it comes off and the valve stem can be replaced by itself then the TPMS can be put back on it.
