TPMS Sensor Question
Stupid question.. Last Friday I had my stock tires/wheels removed from my brand new truck, and I had them put my fuel vapors/nitto ridge grapplers on. Every day since, I've been getting the TPMS system fault message, and the dash wasn't showing tire pressure. No biggie, they told me to bring it back in tomorrow and they will reset. However this morning I start the truck and notice I didn't get the error message on start up for the first time since the instal of the new tires. I scroll thru the dash and sure enough it's now showing the pressure for all 4 tires. Is it possible it took 5 or 6 days for them to pair? Should I still bring it in tomorrow, or does it sound like the problem fixed itself? Thanks fellas!
Explained in many threads, the truck has to be driven a certain number of miles (exact number unknown) for the sensors to be read. Once that happens, you're all set. On the 2015+ there is no need to do anything but drive.
Not to worry, it seems sometimes they pair up right away and other times it takes days. The exact same thing happened to me when I swapped my winter/summers. The TPMS light was on for a couple days but then magically they paired up. That was 3 months ago and still work fine.
