If just swapping tires they should leave them alone.

some places rebuild them for a small cost.

if buying wheels you can swap them to the new wheels or buy new ones

A few TPMS sensors were bolted in recesses in rims in the mid 2000's. Needlessly complex, mostly abandoned by industry. Today the sensor is bolted to the valve stem. Discount Tire replaces the valve stem with new tires, even the metal valve stems. Gets new seals to the rim. The TPMS sensor has to come off the old valve stem and is screwed to the new.
