Default TPMS on Screw different?

I bought ebay tpms sensors for my new wheels on my 2018 SCREW and they will not sync up. I emailed seller and they say what I bought only works on regular and extended cab. Anyone heard of this?

I tried both methods to learn the sensors. The hazard lights six times and also the push the brake pedal and turn key method. I just empty my tire and then my truck says try again. Do I need the tool to make them work or are screws different?

Sensors are GL3T-1A180-GA

If they’re the correct frequency they will self calibrate when you drive a few miles. No tools or tricks are needed.

315 hrz I think. I drove it home which is about 15 miles so I will try again today. I have read so many threads saying different things! Weird I could not get them to sync.

The seller's comment is totally incorrect.

You have to have the right sensors for your model y ear for them to work. On the newest model years, no learning method is needed, you simply drive.

Should and may work for a while.
Personally have a 25% failure on Ebay and Amazon TPMS senders. I think they are old stock and the batteries not always up. Crap is some will indicate a signal and then quit right after installation like my last set of 4 (after about 100 miles). I just disabled the dash display and warning via ForScan as they are winter compound tires and off the truck shortly. KM

The sensors are fomoco and this version started in 2015 so I doubt they are older than that. I removed the wheels from my 2014 and put them on my 2018 so I had to switch to the newer style tpms. I read where the batteries are supposed to last 10 years but can't confirm that. I will drive it today and see if they work.

BTW, 2014 and 2018 have different lug nut threads. No idea why.

The opinion on batteries is just mine. 1 set of 4 from Ebay had 1 bad right off, replaced with TPMS from take off wheels. 2nd set of 4 from Amazon all indicated in the shop and worked for 100 miles. Then the the dash indicated a problem displaying --- for pressure. The pressure is fine and 2 repeated attempts to relearn failed so the display is currently off. All the TPMS senders had FOMOCO markings, Chinese makers have a nasty habit of cloning parts and selling discount. KM

I've only been able to get new sensors to sync using the tool.

Typical battery life is 7-10 years. Some last longer, the ones in my 2007 Tacoma are still working after 13 years. The ones in my 09 Honda stopped working 3 years ago. Next time I need tires for the Tacoma and Honda I'll buy new sensors and replace them at that time. I'll just look at the warning light until then. I'm not opposed to having them, $100 every 10 ish years isn't that bad IMO and they do save lives.

I had a Jeep Wrangler bought used with no sensors in the wheels. I bought new ones off Amazon and had them installed with the new tires I bought for it. Those worked fine for the 3 years I owned the Jeep. In my experience you are less likely to get junk buying from Amazon than Ebay.

That's a 315Mhz sensor. Stage 3 Motorsports website say 2018-2019 came with either 315Mhz or 433Mhz.
