Default TPMS question

I just put a set of 2021 20" Dark Alloy wheels on my 2016 Lariat. The 2021 wheels came with TPMS sensors installed, as well as tires, so I just bolted them on and off I go.
The TPMS seems to be reading OK in the dash display, so I'm assuming the system learned them automatically.

Is that how it works? No programming needed?

Thanks

Yes, that's how it works. If they're compatible, they'll read within 20 minutes or so of driving at speed.
