Default TPMS Alert Question

I had a nail in a tire a few days ago. TPMS worked perfectly to alert on the low pressure. I changed the tire and drove around with the flat tire in the bed for a couple of days. I had it repaired about 24 hours ago.

Since picking up and remounting the tire (spare went back under the truck), the TPMS recognizes the tire pressure is correct for the repaired tire (and all tires are showing 35-37 PSI as normal). But the alert remains both on my dash and on FordPass. The app notes that if the alert remains on, I should visit a dealer to have it reset.

So, not having gone through this before, I'm wondering if anyone has a similar experience and what the outcome was.

I don't want to make a trip to a dealer (90km round trip). But I don't want to drive around with my dash telling me there's an alert and periodically chiming aggressively at me. So some questions.

Does the alert go out on it's own eventually?

Can it be resolved with Forscan?

Does re-training the TPMS resolve the alert?

Is a trip to the dealer required?

Any knowledge on this is appreciated.

I never had the issue with the message reappearing after my puncture experience. I also never actually drove around with the spare on. When I got my warning the screw that was in the tire was only causing a minor leak and I was able to refill the tire and it held long enough for me to get it to the tire store for repair. I would check with FORScan for a DTC that might need to be reset. There are several DTCs that are TPMS related.

The alert should reset after 25 miles or so with the correct tire pressure. It takes a little while.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give it another couple of days to reset, and then look for DTCs if it's still showing an alert this weekend.
