Default towing chart

Hello, How do you determine what the tow rating is for a 5.0 supercrew 4x4 with the 6.5 bed? I found this chart from ford but they have 2 numbers 10,700 with an * saying it must have the heavy duty payload package. The other number is 11,600 so is that just for the same truck without the max payload package? Not making sense to me.

Its on page 33 of that pdf. 9,100, 10,700, 11,600 depending on gear set/equipment

I forgot to say with the 3.73 gears. on page 33 it has the 2 number for the 5.0 4x4 supercrew 6.5 bed 3.73s- 10,700 and 11,600. The difference in the chart has the GCWR 16,100/16,200 for the 10,700 tow rating and GCWR 16,900 for the 11,600 tow rating. I just don't know what equipment or option is needed to get the higher tow rating. The * is for having the heavy duty payload package just seems odd to me that having that would tow less and have a less GCWR.

HDPP probably has heavier springs, tires, and wheels and they reduce it that amount.

I looked and it’s based off your gear and wheelbase. 4x4 is less because of the added weight.

Honestly, I do not think the 1/2 ton tow ratings are worth the paper they are printed on anymore. One exception - WDH required over 5000 lbs. I believe every configuration, or at least the standard configurations, are more limited by payload than tow rating.
