Default Towing Capacity

Trying to determine the towing capacity of my new F150 XLT 5.0L V8 Supercrew 145" wheelbase. Any guidance is appreciated. Looking at towing a travel trailer with w 4500 lb. UVW

You will be fine towing that small amount.

Most likely you will be fine but check the yellow sticker on the door jamb, that gives you your payload capacity. Do you know the hitch weight of the trailer? If not figure 12% or so of the 4500 lbs. Subtract that from payload, along with passengers and other cargo. If you are OK there that's a start. There's a lot of info out there on how to do this, in addition to payload you will want to make sure the axle weights are ok etc etc.

Visit the Towing section of the forum and read the many posts that explain all you need to know. What matters most is payload, tongue weight, and the loaded trailer weight.

UVW = Unloaded Vehicle Weight. So what's the gross weight or GVWR on it? That is the number to use. My Coleman had a UVW of 4500#, it now weighs 6400#.
