8000lb bbq pit. Ecoboost pulls it like a dream unless there is a cross wind.

Truck is currently all stock, but i'm saving up a cash stock pile for new shocks, helper air bags, and front and rear replacement bumpers.

Makes a huge difference doesn't it ! I'll never have a trailer with surge brakes ever again. Night and day difference towing a trailer with electric brakes especially with the brake controller and anti - sway control.

They are still surge brakes, just disc and not drum.

Great, now you've got me looking at electric brakes.

And I just inserted my foot into my mouth

I will tell you, it's a upgrade that's worth saving up for, you won't be disappointed.

When I was looking at switching to disc, I didn't really look at the electric ones because of water. Now I see they are electric over hydraulic. I'll be seriously considering them. I should jut be able to replace my surge coupling.

go-on3 that's a real nice Cobalt. Awesome trailer. Would love to get something like that for my boat. Surge brakes suck.

I have a little Regal pocket cruiser - it's kind of porky, esp. filled with water and gas.

I didn't have this boat when I bought my truck. But it tows it like a bear. I'm thinking about tossing on the air bags though - the tri-axle gives me a relatively low tongue weight but when the boat goes over bumps it translates into the truck. It's hooked in the picture. Truck levels out on flat ground.

Also has no problem retrieving with just the e-locker. 2500RPM in 1st gear and it comes right up my steep this time of year launch.
