Thank you for the info we just bought a 28 foot trailer with a gvwr of 9000 lbs dry weight is 6700 so will never be near the 9000. Nice to know what the codes are.

 

​​​​​​If the 6700 lb is brochure weight expectnrougjly 7500 lb with batteries, propane and options and the inevitable "overage". If it's as built calculated weight it will still likely be roughly 7200 lb. Add in 400-500 lb of stuff (it adds up fast,) minimum water in blackwater tank and a full fresh tank and you will be surprised how heavy it will end up.

8000 x .13 = 1040 lb
9000 x .13 = 1170 lb (

By the time you add a WDH (100 lb) make sure you are going to have enough payload to carry your passengers. Yellow Sticker in door.

You will have to check gears but I assume even 3.31 will tow more than you can haul (truck GVWR).

I think you also get a heavier sway bar. I tow a heavier camper than yours & do it at high altitude. That makes the Booster a necessity to make up for the lack of O2. I added E range tires bilstein 5100 shocks & a jewel called Roadmaster active suspension. Difference in handling is incredible. These trucks can tow a lot of weight but a camper is a big box of wind resistance & quite different than towing bricks on a flat bed. You need stability.
