Tow Mirror Upgrade (Adding Features)
I've reviewed as many of the tow mirror threads as I think I can handle. I've got a few questions before I dive in.
I've got some aftermarket 22-pin tow mirrors. They have heat, power fold, power extend, BLIS, spot light signal and puddle light. They are intended to be a direct OEM replacement for 22 pin trucks.
However I have 8-pin mirrors. They are regular (not tow) mirrors with heat and turn signal.
I want to swap them and do it as OEM as possible with as little custom wiring as possible.
I know I need a new switch. Do I need new DDM and PDM or can they just be reprogrammed? I will also get the spot light bezel and switch. And I know I need a new door harness.
Can anyone tell me how the wiring runs?
Do the mirrors plug into the switches or the modules? And the harnesses that need replace go from where to where? I just want to make sure I fully understand it all before I get started.

It has been a couple years since I switched out my mirrors on a 2016 Lariat and they were 22 pin to 22 pin. I do recall seeing that there was a conversion cable from 8 pin to 22 pin that you will need. Do you have that? Unfortunately that is all I can offer in the way of help.
