Default Tow Mirror Question

Hey all, can anyone tell me the difference between the JL34-17682 right tow mirror, and the HC3Z-17682? The first 4 are different, but descriptions seem to be the same mirror application. My truck takes the second one, but I found a guy with the first one used I want to buy if it works. He told me it has temp sensor, BLIS, puddle, spot, heated glass, memory, power fold, power telescope...that all matches what I need but why would the first 4 letters/numbers be different in the part number then?

Do you mean JL3Z, which is a non-tow mirror, Vs HC3Z, which is a tow mirror?

No, both the mirrors I listed are tow mirrors when I look them up on Ford's site. Also the picture I have of the mirror JL34 prefix is definitely a tow mirror and the prefix is on a sticker on the mirror where I can see it.

The JL34-17682 appears to be a mirror for a Super Duty that has two plugs, a 21 pin and 4 pin, which will not be the same as your current F150 mirror plug configuration. Attached below is a link to a mirror with the part number that you are asking about. You don't say what year your truck is or options which is important because there are two different versions of tow mirrors. The 2015 - 2017 tow mirror is different than the 2018 - present, though some 2018 did come with the earlier version.

2015 - 2017 style tow mirror.

2018 - present style tow mirror that are similar to what is on the Super Duty.

My truck is a 2018 Lariat built after 3/18 when they moved the temp sensor to the mirror. My truck from the factory has power fold, power telescope, BLIS, heated, memory, puddle, spotlight, signal, rear camera, No 360 deg camera front/sides. The 360 camera is the only option I don’t have. The dealer took off the mirrors and replaced with sport mirrors. Then sold to another person who I bought it from. So I can’t get the original mirrors back, and I’m looking for which I need. I see your pic with 2 plugs. But this same part number mirror as the one you posted only has one plug which is confusing.

That's an actual superduty. Here's the 2018+ F150 w/ tow mirror. They are probably the same housing with Ford homogenizing the trucks.

If I'm not mistaken that 4 wire plug is for the camera. All the other features run though the 22 pin
