Default Touchscreen

I did a couple searches and didnt see this anywhere.

Shortly after purchasing my 2020 F150, the backup camera started acting up. Im still a couple months from my first oil change, so hopefully the cam will be in by then. Also, once the hot weather went away, the cam started working fine.

A couple months ago my touchscreen froze. Nothing on the touchscreen or cluster worked. I did have turn signals, brake lights and head lights. After removing the key and opening and closing the driver door, the radio continued to play. Starting and stopping the engine made no difference. I had to disconnect the battery, Once the battery was hooked back up, everything was fine. I took the truck into the dealer, they said no codes came up and they didnt see anything amiss.

Today I drove the truck about 40 miles, got home and went back out about 1/2hr later. When I started the truck the touch screen was blank. I turned the ignition off and restarted the truck, no change. I received a phone call and it came in through sync, but still had a blank screen.

I went into the BBQ place to pickup my order, when I got in the truck and started it, everything was normal.

Anyone else have these problems?

- The backup camera has a recall open for the exact issue you're describing.

- Sounds like your APIM (the computer that's attached to your Sync3 touchscreen) is wonky. Since it's intermittent I would pull it into the service bay whenever it's acting up. Just because there's no codes doesn't mean nothing is wrong. Or perhaps take a video of it acting up? Sometimes that may be enough for a service manager to decide to throw some parts at it.
