purchased the tailgate dampner kit for my 2016 xlt scab RR


unfortunately the pivot is black looking for options to paint it the RR.


I found a place in CA "touch up direct", they will perfectly match your color. I ordered 16oz aersol cans. the RR is a tri coat. I got base coat, mid tinted coat and clear coat 1 can each basic/essentls kit was 60 bucks.


had been looking at color matched mirror caps, after ordering the paint I ordered primed skull caps for the truck. and just put 3-4 coats of each on them.


the pivot and mirror caps look great.


will add a picture when I figure out how to do it.


you can order a touch up bottle, aersol cans or quarts or larger quantities.

so 4 coats of base, 4 coats of mid, and 4 coats of clear? Seems like a lot of coats, although I really have no idea what I'm talking about.

Aerosol paint, which is not usually 2k paint, puts down thinner coats than standard 2k from a spray gun in a paint booth, so it needs more coats.
