I always avoid parking in corner spots of parking garages just for that reason.
Hope the insurance process goes smoothly.

Those pictures are indeed hard to look at. My heart hurts. Your truck reminds me of mine. Sport color package, XLT ecoboost, and I usually park next to a concrete column just like the one pictured when I have to drive to work.
Besides the good fortune that nobody was hurt. It's almost a blessing, in my opinion, your truck was totaled. That concrete column you parked next to helped with that. I personally would've hated to have a fender bender (smashed bumper, fender, door, etc.) and have to deal with body shop repairs. And then the fact that if the fender bender was in any way, any tiny bit more than purely cosmetic, your truck would never feel, or sound the same again. This way, you should get a brand new truck.
Gap insurance?

prepare to sue. sorry but I warn people of this often with a total loss. and yes it depends on your state and all that rot.
but - they will try to undercut you the "total" cost of the veichle and right now on your own look up NADA price for your car in fair conditions because that will be their base.
Finally what's remaining on your loan assuming you have one. Don't answer this - but keep the number in mind. If that is lower than the NADA value - that's the number they will start with.
I hope your insurnace company has your back on this whole thing. Good luck, sorry to see it. I don't know I'd call it totaled though. I don't see coolant on the ground so the front damage isn't that bad. Or has they already cleaned up?

Always lawyer up to protect your interest. Sadly they only owe you what replacement value is. When a vehicle is a few years old super low miles and excellent condition they will still try for mid market value. It is always a hassle but with a lawyer and time generally speaking you can negotiate a better deal. Sadly if you want to replace with new it will be a costly loss no matter what you do.
Very grateful you were not in the car and no one was injured.

Thank you all for the kind words. Geico offered me $40k for the truck. I owed a little over $33k to my credit union. I paid a little under $43k for the truck brand new before Tax and title, and registration. I thought that was a fair offer and took the money.
The frame damage is what put it over the edge into a total loss.
