Default Today is the day

I will finally get to test drive and hopefully buy my truck today. XLT ordered 12/23/15. I will do a little loading and unloading of the cylinders (break-in rings) while on my test and have them change oil and filter before I drive it home. Anyone have other useful suggestions as to anything I should be sure to test or take a good look at before accepting? Thanks

Brand new truck and before you put a few miles on it, your having dealer change oil and filter? Not necessary, but it's your truck. Post some photos afterwards and enjoy the day!

I'll put some break-in miles on it first. It's cheap to over change, expensive to underchange the oil. I want all partials out early. Thanks for the well wishes.

Is it true from the factory they use any oil that is better for break-in? Or just regular motorcraft synthetic?

Congrats and I hope you enjoy your truck. Hopefully you used/will-use the more positive features on this forum to assist in your decision, as well as give you an idea of some things to look for on the truck before you take possession. I can't find the link but there was a list of things to check before leaving the dealership. I think that applied to the 2015s though. From what I hear, the 2016s seem to be a little better prepared.

If you want to change your oil and filter, go ahead. I will say that I didn't and even after the first 5000 miles, my oil didn't look bad at all. It wasn't honey blonde but it was still transparent. Do you and don't let some of the idiots on here bring down your experience.
