Default Tires

Sort of narrowed down tires for when our truck shows up except size. Question LT285/65R 18 or LT275/70R18 or LT275/65R18.
I always get messed up on some of the tire sizes and yes I read the sticky LOL!!
So I just ask what others have seen and what has worked and looked best?
The truck we have coming is in the signature below.

Of what you've posted I would take the 275/70/18's but for me I'd go 285/70/18's.

The BFG LT275/70R18 A/T KO2 on my stock rims turned out great, no suspension mods needed or leveling applied. They fill the wheel well nicely. You may need to check for the possibility of rubbing with a LT285/70/R18 without a level on certain trucks.

Is the 285 a taller sidewall making it a larger diameter? I do plan to do a 2" level kit.

No, the "70" is the height of the tire. The 285 instead of 275 means they"ll be an inch wider. They would fit without the level.

Not trying to be "one of those" but 275 versus 285 is 10 mm - 0.3937" - wider, not an inch wider.

Right. 25.4mm to an inch, so 10mm is .3937 inches, as stated.

Good thing you came in and confirmed that....

OP:

My position was not to try and give exact #'s because there is no such thing. My point was trying to help you understand. I apologize if it has caused an issue.

These guys don't respond with help. They wait until they can knit pick. Normally you're told to use the search button or read the manual.

Once again I thank everyone that responded. Sometimes the search is a pain and the manual of course does not cover this stuff PLUS our truck is on order so I don't have a manual yet. Asking and learning from folks that have real life experience is what the forum is all about in my mind.
