Odd, they give you a different tire just to change the lettering colour? I thought all OWL tires had a black side unless they're directional?

The damn Dodge I bought in '97 came with crapyear wranglers that didn't even last 40,000 miles.
The E-250's we got at work last year came with Hankook's and have had a number of flats. They don't seem very puncture resistant. Not impressed.
Having owned 3 Powestrokes in the past, I would have agreed. However my dad has a '12 F250 PSD with about 130,000 commuter miles on it and he has been through a bunch of Michelins since November 2011. The local tire shop we deal with said this has been a common problem with the Michelins in the last couple years so he recommended another brand for my dad this time around which he went with.

YMMV....literally

I am sure this has been asked a bunch before, But when you changed tires at the dealer, did they give you much on the stock "trade in" tires? Or am I better off going to a tire dealer and keeping the old ones to sell on craigs list?

All depends on the dealer. I pulled my scorpions off at 40 miles on my 14. I checked discount tire direct and saw they were 800 a set. Sold them on Craigslist in one day for 500.

I would say anything over 400 is good. But keep in mind if you trade tires in, you don't pay tax on your trade do save some there.
