Car loans are being extended out 7-years and sub-prime lenders like Santander and Credit Acceptance book loans with high risk-based rates. Tire Agent appears to leverage multiple lenders who loan out in the prime and subprime. They also offer different options, such as term loans, which at least provides a path to clearing out some debt when compared to revolving credit.
Doing the rental house thing I see quite a bit of the aftermath while reviewing credit reports. Sad.

If all works out, pretty solid deal.
Can you explain how you got 28% back?

Personally, I have a difficult time respecting those who choose profit from bad decision making as a business strategy. Rent to own stores, finance wheels, stereos, gambling, and all the rest.
It's not on the lender to determine if a bad decision is being made for loans of this size, and there is nothing wrong or immoral in profiting from loaning out your money, which is what this is. If there was no profit to be made, there would be no loans.

What IS on the lender is to not be predatory by requiring such a high interest rate that the loanee is at risk of not being able to pay off the loan over a significant time period. Anything over 15% annual is excessive (in my opinion) and shouldn't be tolerated. The payday places that charge as much as 400% should be shut down.

I checked for the hell of it, but tireagent.com doesn't have the tires I'm looking for. I was looking for the stock Raptor tires, load range C KO2s, they only have load range E in that size.

mid you have a capital one credit card and you log in to your app or the website, there is a section called capital one offers. There are a bunch of online retailers listed with various “cash back” type incentives. You choose a retailer, click on the link and purchase in window that shows up. The instructions on how to activate are on the website.

after you purchase, you get a statement credit within one to three billing cycles. It’s not instant, so for that reason some may not like it. I did it with a VRBO rental last year and got the statement credit - it was something like 10 percent at the time.

my tires are supposed to be delivered today. I have not gotten the statement credit yet, but I took plenty of screenshots of the process so that I can bitch about it adequately if I don’t get my credit.

Update - Tires came in on Saturday and had them installed at local 4x4 shop with a 2 inch RC level. Looks great and the tireagent.com service went as expected. I put the order in on Wednesday and tires were delivered on Friday.

will report back if this capital one rebate actually works. It could be a couple of billing cycles

Final update - Capital one deal came through and I got ~$500 credit this morning. Last I checked it was still 28% back, so for anyone that is willing to have tires shipped to their house and can float the cost for a billing cycle or two, it’s a pretty solid deal
