Default Which Tire Size?

Trying to decide between 285/75/18 or 295/70/18. I am leveled on Bilstein 5100s on the 2.1" setting with the stock rims. Certainly do not want any rubbing. Pics are helpful.

Thoughts?

I've got 295/70/18 and I don't have any rubbing. (Also leveled) (I'll try to grab a better picture in a bit)

What is the larger tire going to do for you? Are there places you go that you have trouble getting traction or is it just esthetics?

With comparing the two, not a lot of differences, one 1/2 inch taller, one 1/2 inch wider…probably won’t be able to tell the difference.

the 295/70 seems to have more of a selection in both brands and in load ranges…also seems to be a tad cheaper.

when you run that big, and get that close to a rub, I’d pay attention to actual brand sizes vs the generic sizes…some brands can vary a decent amount.

there’s a chart in the sticky as well as a lot of posts if you search where you can get real world results.

a few years ago, many vehicles ago I was considering quite a few sizes and went with a 275/70/18, I had Bilsteins at 1.75…that gave you a little bigger tire for looks without any risk of rubbing or hitting after mud/snow accumulation or if you actually took it off road and stretched the suspension beyond the normal speed bump encounter.

here’s a pic:
