Tire pressure going from P-rated to LT tire, does inside the door psi apply?

On my 17 xlt fx4 I just put 285/65/18 on at Discount tire and they put them at 40 lbs. fr/rr. I forgot to put that they were Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I got to say I love my nitto's

I should know better than to get into a tire pressure (or oil) discussion, but here goes .
How about the other way..going from LT to P or euro-metric? My "new-to-me" 2015 Lariat SCrew originally came with LT275/65R18's according to the door jamb sticker. Don't know which specific tires, they were gone by the time I got the truck. Now it has "euro-metric" 275/65R18's--Michelin Primacy XC. I guess these were OEM on some trucks but probably not mine.
The door jamb says to inflate the LT tires to 39 psi. This seems high for the euro-metric tires, I am running them at 36 psi. Any collected wisdom from the forum?
If it matters, I have the Max Tow package but don't plan to tow more than about 3000 lbs.

I have those Primacy XCs as my OEM tires (unfortunately), and my FordPass app says to keep them at 38 psi. I think that is what the door jamb says, too.
