Michelin LTX A/T2. Very nice A/T tires with hardly any road noise and great grip. Great looking tread and 60k mileage range. Good blend between the harsher tread that makes noise and the smoother OEM street tire that came on the trucks.

Yeah, as the post above you making this recommendation was getting at, this really does seem to be the solution for OP.

If properly inflated Open Country AT3 and Ridge Grapples in E load are both too harsh, and AT3 are too loud, and 10k mile Ridge Grapplers are too loud, a p-metric highway tire, which the Michelin is the best of, has got to be the way to go. It'll just be a 33" height (1 more than stock)

Can't get a big oversize tire with a more aggressive all terrain tread and be hyper sensitive to ride stiffness and road noise

Thanks for the input guys, I have made the decision to go back with OE wheels and 275/60/20 Falken AT3W 115 tires. This should be enough improvement that I will be happy with the truck.

I have considered the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 275/65/20 in 116 but wasn't sure if they would be worth trying. i have had the Terra Grappler in LT275/65/20 126 and they were terrible. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
I had the Ridge Grapplers and absolutely hated them. Thing is, once you get into a tire that size, they are probably going to be E load rated tires, which are going to ride a bit more stiff. Also, 20" wheels are great looking, but never ride as well as tires with more sidewall to absorb some bumps. I've had several vehicles with 20's, (including the truck with the Nittos), and the ride was not good on any of them. Now, I'm running 275/70/18 BFG KO 2s, with the tires at 40lbs of pressure in them. A bit (but only slightly) stiffer than the stock tires, but ride very well, and are very quiet. If you want super quiet and smooth, look at something like the Michelin Defenders. Not "off-road" tires, but very good tires overall.

I was hoping to buy the 295/60/20 Ridge Grapplers. Interesting to hear the feedback on this thread.

I have 295/55r20 TOYO open country AT3's, they are a pretty new design from toyo.
I had BFG AT KO2's prior in 285/55r20.
I must say I do like the AT3's thus far. I like the KO2's as well. My main reason for going toyo was its a much newer tire design/tread compound vs the KO2 and also mainly, the weight is about 5 pounds a tire difference (same size tire). I figured it couldnt hurt to go with the lighter E rated tire...
I run them at approx 41 pounds

The new Nitto Recon is out. Suppose to be more quieter. They also come in 295.60.20.

The shop I'd ordered it from said 4 weeks wait.

I'm going to go with the Continental Terrain contact a/t, they get great reviews, and off-pavement is as much as I need. Doesn't snow in FL.

I've always like Mich, but the lack of anything on the sidewalls bugs me.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grappler LT285/60/20 and they are a little noisy, but no more then my BFG Long trials on my old truck.
