Default Tire Decision (down to three)

Hey all. Yes I know, another thread on tires. I've done a bunch of reading up on here. Of course there is a lot of mixed reviews, which is why I am posting. I've got my tire choices narrowed down to three and need some help. I have 2019 Lariat. Keeping the stock 20" wheels on and have a 2.5" leveling kit. I am looking at the Ridge Grappler and the Toyo AT2 in 295/60/20 and then the BFG KO2 in 285/65/20. Would like to hear opinions from those running these specific tires and, if you got them handy, some pictures with your stock 20's. I know I will be happy with any of these just wanted extra opinions from guys that have run them. Looking to make a decision next week at some point so fire away.

My experience with both Toyo and BFG mud and AT style tires is they grip great in a variety of terrains but wear out really fast under a heavy truck.
My brand new Toyo open country RT front tires rounded off in the first 3k miles. Tread depth wasn't impressive to begin with.
Tread depth dropped about 5/32" driving 10K mi per year, rotated every 3 months. Even wear but fast.
They were almost bald in the center after 2 years. The BFG AT's lasted 3 years and had to be replaced at around 35k miles. Not much better. Still had some tread but couldn't be balanced and began to cup.
If you don't mind rotating your tires every 3K mi and replacing them in a couple years Toyo and BFG are both great choices.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers seem to have a good reputation and faithful following. I haven't tried them personally but they look aggressive for an AT. I've heard they are quiet but don't know fist hand.
I'm looking at the Cooper Discovery AT3 XLT in 285/65R20 for my 19 F-150 once I complete this Bilstien coilover install. Waiting on UCA's.

Post up some pics of your new shoes when you get them! Still trying to decide myself.

I'm leaning hard towards the KO2 because I've heard nothing but great things about em. Plus they look great.
I had 35x12.5 AT2 on my 2012 and they lasted over 60k. Had a good experience with those, but was wanting to try something different.
The R/T is just seeming too stiff for this truck. Had those on the F350 I just got out of and they were great for that truck. Looked great, decent gas mileage but were pretty noisy (37x12.5 though). Just don't think I would like them on a 150.
I've heard nothing but great things about the ridge grappler too which is why I need more opinions between the two (KO2).

Extra 2c. I know you have it narrowed down, but I have found that the Goodyear Wrangler® UltraTerrain AT is an excellent tire! The base is a E1 load rating. I've been running them for a year and I am more than pleased. They still look almost new with 20 K miles on them. They are great in the snow and in the dirt. And as price goes they are quite reasonable.

Good luck!

Not the same vehicle but I run 285/75R17 Ridge Grapplers on my Wrangler JKU. Very quiet on road for a more aggressive tread pattern. 15k on them in a year and barely look worn at all. I rotate all 5 tires.

Thanks! How do they feel on the road and hows the loudness?

I ran KO2 on my last vehicle (6k lb 4x4 SUV) and have Ridge Grapplers on my F150 now. Not those precise sizes.

The Ridge Grapplers make a little more noise than the KO2. That isn't saying much, the KO2's were literally as quiet to my ears as the Michelin highway tires I had before that, I just didn't hear them...I can hear the graps but it's minimal and there's no way, IMO, anybody looking at all terrain tires for a truck would be bothered by it.

They are both incredibly popular and common and you can't go wrong. Toyo too. But the AT2 falls flat vs either of the others in the looks department. The BFG and the Nitto have both been great in the rain and on dry pavement, and are overkill for any off-pavement I have actually done

Again not the size you're looking at, but here are Ridge Grapplers (275/65/20) on a 2019 Lariat with the the stock 20" PVD wheels and a 2" level

Oh, and here is a truck with your target size of 295/60/20 Ridge Grapplers next to mine, but not on stock wheels

They feel great are are barely louder than the stock tires. I don't really notice tire noise like i did with the Duratracs on my 2012 F150.
I did add Bilstien 5100 front and back as well. The fronts at the highest. Enjoy.
